In the 1600s Shakespeare lived in Shoreditch. What would he be writing about and be busy with if he lived here today? We welcomed local residents to this FREE Shakespeare inspired party and art workshops for children and adults. It was a day filled with creative opportunities. We learnt how to draw comics with Rudy Loewe, how to make costumes with Alice McCabe, had a go at ceramics with Town Gas, explored our inner writing voice with Ministry of Stories! Unleashed our inner Elizabethan actor and were playful with Shakespeare's plays in a workshop facilitated by Shakespeare in Shoreditch.
We also made badges and learnt more about Shoreditch Library, enjoyed under 5s area espeically prepared by Ivy Street Family Centre and got to knowShoreditch Trust and their excellent programmes. It was a day full of tea, cake, falafel and chats with the neighbours!
This event was co-organised with North & South Arden TMO, who were hosting the event in their hall and have co-funded it with Hackney Council. This event was also generously supported by Fabrique who provided buns and bread!
