Olivia Mathurin’s tub artworks
Each tub features an artwork created by artist Olivia Mathurin. They capture the people who have brought the project to life, as well as familiar Hoxton Street sites such as the market, chicken shops and the pie and mash shop. The artworks were mounted onto brightly coloured spray painted perspex that had been fly-tipped next to PEER, the perfect material to recycle into a beautiful artwork.
The artworks at Hoxton Hall and St Monica’s Primary School have been created by young people attending Hoxton Hall’s After School Club and Year 6 pupils at St Monica’s. They were asked to create drawings that were inspired by something or someone in Hoxton. These drawings were then transformed into stickers to be attached to the tubs.
