Felicity Allen
Felicity Allen bases her work in practice, as an artist, writer, educator and manager. For the last ten years she has led museum and gallery departments (at London’s Hayward Gallery and Tate Britain) to develop cross cultural, dialogic and mutual learning programmes in the UK and internationally (especially in Syria and Jordan), underpinned by research.
Achim Borchardt-Hume
Achim Borchardt-Hume is Chief Curator at the Whitechapel Gallery. Prior to the Whitechapel Gallery he was a curator for modern and contemporary art at Tate Modern where he worked on exhibitions and the permanent collection. He has also worked in the exhibition departments of the Hayward Gallery and the Serpentine Gallery and was Curator and Interim Head at Barbican Art Gallery.
Kirsten Dunne (Chair)
Kirsten Dunne (Chair) worked in the commercial gallery sector for almost ten years – for Kerlin Gallery in Dublin and then Frith Street Gallery in London – before joining the Arts Council in 2004 where she was Senior Officer of Visual Arts, London until 2009. During her time at the Arts Council she contributed to the regional, national and international overview of Visual Arts, and oversaw the portfolio of over 60 Regularly Funded visual arts organisations in London. She is now a freelance arts consultant.
Fiona Murphy
Fiona Murphy is a partner at Bhatt Murphy Solicitors, London, a firm specialising in human rights cases. Her focus is on complex and serious private law claims against the state, and has she been involved successfully in many of the most serious claims against the police, having secured several substantial damages awards. She is also an experienced public and inquest lawyer.
Simon Tuttle
Simon Tuttle (Treasurer) is a partner of the Northern European mid-market buyout firm AAC Capital Partners. Since joining the company in 2000 he has been involved in the buyouts of GGP, Strix, U-POL, Amtico and Ocean Media. His key realisations include Accantia, Jessops and Condor Group. Prior to joining AAC Simon worked for Natwest Acquisition Finance and Legal & General Ventures.
Mark Wallinger
Mark Wallinger is a turner Prize winning artist (2007) who has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally. In 1999 he was the first artist commissioned for Trafalgar Square's Fourth Plinth, his sculpture, Ecce Homo – a life-sized statue of a Christ figure – was later shown at the Venice Biennale in 2001, where Wallinger represented Britain. In 2009 Wallinger's proposal for a 50-metre high white horse was selected for the Ebbsfleet Landmark Project.
Alister Warman
Alister Warman is Principal of Byam Shaw School of Art, London. Prior to moving to Byam Shaw in 1991, he worked at the Art Department of the Arts Council of Great Britain between 1975 and 1985, he was then Director of the Serpentine Gallery between 1985 and 1991.
